I have always been curious about what helps people live in accordance with what we value. I was lucky enough to work in a variety of counseling roles for over twenty years, before training as a clinical therapist. These twenty plus years allowed me to see how someone who really listens does help people really hear themselves. Perhaps this is obvious, but it often overlooked. This deep listening becomes a first step in healing. It allows people to begin to move more in line with what they value. Then the experience of life can feel more valuable.
So I became a therapist. I trained in the art of deep listening. I also improved my skills for helping people build their skills so they may to move towards what they want, away from what they don’t want. This movement toward change becomes possible once some has taken the challenge of really hearing their own voice connect with their life as choice.
When we work together, I often think of question such as: What do you want more of? What do you want less of? What makes it hard to get there? What can change? What do you need help to accept, so you may move forward? I can work with you to develop the energy and focus to make changes, to address obstacles, to process grief, and to develop skills to better relate with yourself and others, in accordance with what you value.
I work with individuals who are 13 years old and up. I welcome people of all cultures, genders, sexual orientations, and neurological orientations who are open to working with me. I particularly enjoy working with EMDR clients and OCD related disorders and ADHD.
A little about me, I am a curious, creative person who values people, plants, animals, and life. I enjoy biking, gardening, and large bodies of water with changing tides and fascinating depths.
