About Amanda
I'm Amanda Fowler, a licensed clinical social worker (MSW, LICSW) and the Clinical Director at Talk Heal Thrive. I'm not currently accepting new clients. My focus is on clinical supervision, leading our intern program, and supporting the overall operations of the practice.
My path into this work was fueled by a strong belief in the power of community and a desire to support people on their paths to wellness. That same belief shapes how I approach supervision and how I think about building a practice where clinicians can do their best work.
In my clinical foundation, I draw from a range of evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Polyvagal Therapy, Synergetic Play Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and mindfulness. My background includes extensive work with teens and young adults, neurodivergent clients, and LGBTQ+ affirming care, with particular experience around ADHD, anxiety, depression, family conflict, grief, shame, self-criticism, and trauma. I bring that clinical lens into supervision and into the development of our intern program.
As Clinical Director, I'm focused on supporting our clinicians and interns as they grow, building training and supervision structures that are both clinically rigorous and genuinely supportive, and helping keep the day-to-day operations of the practice running in a way that lets our team focus on the work that matters.
Outside of work, I find joy in yoga, art, reading, and video games. You'll often find me with a warm cup of tea, knitting, or doodling, all reminders of the importance of creative expression and self-care.
