Christine Sanders

Christine spent a decade as a litigator before a profound personal loss redirected her toward psychotherapy—a way to keep standing alongside people in their most challenging moments, but in service of resilience and healing. She believes mental well-being is intricately connected to the events, systems, and relationships that shape our lives, as well as the interplay between our mind, body, and nervous system.

Christine works from a trauma-informed, relational, and systemic orientation, understanding that struggles like despair, disconnection, anxiety, and relationship conflict often develop as adaptations to earlier experience. She is a NARM-informed professional and holds a Trauma Counseling Certificate from Antioch University Seattle, drawing on nervous-system-informed systemic frameworks and an anti-oppressive lens to support clients as they reconnect with their agency.

Christine is especially drawn to working with trauma, major life transitions, and grief — the experience of "becoming someone new" without having chosen the path there, whether through a new diagnosis, relationship or career change, or loss.

Christine is completing her clinical internship at Talk Heal Thrive as part of her Master’s program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Antioch University Seattle. She practices as a registered counselor intern under clinical supervision. She also holds a JD from Seattle University School of Law and remains an active member of the Washington State Bar Association. Her legal background informs her clinical perspective but is not part of the services she provides; as a psychotherapist, she does not offer legal advice or representation. 

Outside her clinical work, Christine parents a middle schooler, is a lifelong athlete, and has a longstanding Vipassana meditation practice. Originally from Kansas City, Missouri, she's called Seattle home since 2001.
