About Niya

My path to becoming a therapist came from a deep desire to make mental health care feel more accessible, welcoming, and affirming—especially for the communities I serve. I’ve seen how hard it can be to ask for help when there are real barriers in the way, like limited access to care, cultural stigma, or past therapy experiences that didn’t feel safe or helpful. Those experiences shaped my commitment to doing therapy differently: with inclusivity, equity, and an understanding of how much courage it takes just to show up.

In my work, I offer trauma-informed care that honors both what you’ve been through and the strength it took to survive it. I aim to create a space where you can exhale, feel genuinely seen, and talk about the things that may feel heavy, confusing, or hard to put into words without fear of judgment. Many people come to therapy feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or caught in patterns that once helped them cope but now feel exhausting or limiting. Together, we can gently explore those patterns, make sense of where they came from, and look for new ways of understanding yourself that feel more supportive and aligned with who you are now.

Therapy with me is collaborative and paced with care. Whether we’re unpacking a painful memory, naming emotions that feel tangled, identifying triggers, or reconnecting with strengths you may have forgotten you had, my goal is to support insight, self-compassion, and meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you.

I tend to work best with clients who are curious about getting to know themselves on a deeper level, especially those navigating trauma, chronic stress, or long-standing habits that no longer feel helpful or sustainable.

Outside of the therapy room, I’m a cat mom to three with a knack for collecting figurines, and someone who loves good food, DIY projects, and decorating just about anything I can get my hands on.
